Studio Handmade Iron Candlestick
This sculptural candlestick appears to be formed from a continuous length of iron, beginning in a loose spiral at the base before rising into a twisted stem and opening into a tapered candle cup above.
The beauty is in the evidence of its making. Subtle hammer marks, irregular edges, shifts in thickness, and a dark oxidized surface. Rather than hiding the hand of the maker, every bend and strike seems to preserve it.
Its silhouette is remarkably calligraphic.
Beautiful alone on a table, mantel, or shelf, where it reads as a small sculpture even without a candle.
Dimensions: 9 ¼ “ H x 3 ¼ “ W (at base)
Handmade condition with surface variation, oxidation, irregularities, and tool marks consistent with forged ironwork. Maker and exact age unknown. Please review photographs carefully for condition.
